Rawls Law Group recently settled a case arising from care provided at the VA Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. The VA paid $200,000 related to this 64-year-old veteran losing one of his kidneys. The veteran was treated for kidney stones. There were various complications eventually requiring a nephrostomy tube. Eventually the kidney failed and was surgically removed.

The applicable substantive law imposed a low cap on non-economic damages. Most, but not all, of the medical care and expenses were covered by the VA.
