Medical Malpractice Claims Against the Federal Government (FTCA Claims)

Our Recent Settlements

Since 1999, we have represented nearly 700 veterans or military families. Unfortunately, we are not able to help everyone who contacts us, but we have been able to assist many of them. Our cases are as varied as the people who seek our assistance. Below are some examples of the sorts of cases we handle – and outcomes of which we are especially proud.

Disclaimer: THE RESULTS ARE SPECIFIC TO THE FACTS AND LEGAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF EACH OF THE CLIENTS' CASES AND SHOULD NOT BE USED TO FORM AN EXPECTATION THAT THE SAME RESULTS COULD BE OBTAINED FOR OTHER CLIENTS IN SIMILAR MATTERS WITHOUT REFERENCE TO THE SPECIFIC FACTUAL AND LEGAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF EACH CLIENT'S CASE.

Can I sue the V.A. for medical negligence?

According to federal law, federal agencies such as the VA cannot be named as defendants to lawsuits for the torts (i.e., civil wrongs including negligent acts) of their employees.

An individual injured by a VA employee’s negligence does have a legal right to recovery, it is just not directly against the VA itself. Rather, the veteran (or his or her family member, depending on the situation) may be able to sue the United States government for damages resulting from VA employees’ malpractice.

If you or a loved one have suffered medical negligence through the fault of providers employed by the government, please fill out the form below to contact our team today.

"I found that the Rawls Law Group is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in supporting Veteran's issues . The "One Team" approach they deploy, in resolving client issues, makes one feel that you are part of a team and not just a lawyer/client engagement. Rapid responsiveness to inquiries further supports the Rawls Law Group business model being very client centric. An example of this is the numerous times they initiated actions benefiting myself with no improvement to their fees.

I hope I never require legal representation again but if I did I would definitely use the Rawls Group to represent my needs."
